Schauenburg Maschinen- und Anlagen-Bau GmbH (MAB) is one of Germany`s Top-Innovators among medium-sized businesses – that is the result of this year’s German “TOP 100” competition.

At the end of June, the company from Mülheim, which has been building machinery and plants for the separation and processing of minerals for over 50 years, received the renowned award “Top 100”. Five categories were evaluated “Success of Innovation”, “Climate for Innovation”, “Innovative Processes and Organisation”, “Innovation Supporting Top-Management” as well as “Innovation Marketing”. With high marks in all categories, the MAB was evaluated to be one of the top 10 companies in Germany in the category “Climate for Innovation”.

The MAB is specialized in machinery and equipment for mineral processing independent of the type, processing of sand and gravel as well as dewatering equipment has proven itself in extractive industry, tunnelling and lignite power plants around the world.

An excellent example of the power of innovation is the dewatering equipment for slag which reduces attrition and maintenance effort of the machinery. Moreover, the specialists of MAB developed a new technology of resuming unburned coal which upgrades marketing of slag as building material.

Within such an appropriate climate of innovation and with a department for research and development new ideas can be born. The staff of 42 people works closely with the customers while permanently designing new technologies. These can easily be achieved as there is a low hierarchy, short ways of communication and teamwork between construction, manufacturing and assembling.
